Working for Us

Work for us?

We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team as personal assistants (previously known as Support Workers).

You will be supporting a group of young autistic men based in Radstock (near Bath) on a 1:1 basis. Your support will enable the individuals to access a varied weekly programme of activities such as swimming, horse riding, sensory therapies and some work placements (such as agricultural work and catering roles). Each client has their own Motability vehicle, therefore we require drivers with a clean driving licence.

You will need to have a caring and positive nature, be supportive, calm and tolerant as the person you are supporting is on the autistic spectrum therefore empathy and understanding is essential. Previous experience is not necessary as we will give you all the training you will need. You will be an important part of our team, so our aim is for you to be well trained and encouraged to learn and develop your professional practice.

We have a variety of day and/or evening shifts and some weekends available.

Benefits and opportunities will include;
• Free DBS checks,
• Access to a comprehensive package of training
• Support from a Team Leader

Day/evening bank staff £14 per hour.
Sleep-in shifts also available.
We also have some permanent roles, please contact us to learn more.

Please submit your CV (including full contact details) along with a covering letter explaining why you are interested in the role.

You will be required to provide evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK.

To find out more, please contact us via jobs@brightgl.org. We are happy to arrange an informal telephone chat to answer any queries. Please email us with a brief introduction to yourself, along with your contact number, and a member of our team will be in touch.

We especially welcome enquiries from self-employed carers or agencies interested in working with us.
